Itv.ge violated First and Fifth principles
01.03.2019
The article in question with the title "Three Million Bribe Scandal - What awaits Eka Beselia and Ivanishvili's Judge Todua?" The article, like the previous one, dealt with corruption accusing the MP and the judge of the Supreme Court. The journalist failed to provide open and verified sources and did not specify which media sources he/she was relying on. The Council considered that the journalist, in such circumstances specifically, should always make efforts to verify information. Despite the requests, the website, like other media outlets, refused to publish the corrected information.

According to the decision of the Council, the First (accuracy) and Fifth (correction) principles were violated in the given case. The case was reviewed remotely, online. Itv.ge did not cooperate with the Charter, and neither provided the identity of the author of the article nor a counterclaim.
